How to Tell If Your Battery Is a Pandora One?

A Pandora battery is a regular PlayStation Portable battery that has been modified to force the PlayStation Portable into factory service mode, which allows you to install custom firmware and change other system service settings. There are multiple ways to tell whether you have a Pandora battery that can help you expand the functionality of your hand-held system.

Instructions

Insert the battery you wish to inspect into your PlayStation Portable and try to turn it on. If the system doesn't turn on without being plugged into an AC adapter, then there is a chance you have a pandora battery. This happens because turnng a battery into a Pandora battery renders it unable to power on the PlayStation Portable.

Check the brand of your battery. If it is any of the following brands, then chances are the battery is a Pandora battery. Sony "standard" Li-ion 1800 mAh, Sony PSP-280 2200mAh, Datel, PSP Battery 3600 mAh (X2), Datel, PSP Battery 1800 Max Power, and Datel PSP Battery GO MAX (Model # GM1000, uses AAA batteries). These are the only batteries that can function as a Pandora battery.

Open the battery and check the motherboard for a eight-pin black chip. If the last pin on the black chip has been removed, then it is definitely a genuine hard-modded Pandora battery.
