How to Use a Sony PSP With a USB Cable

If you need to transfer data from your Sony PlayStation Portable to your personal computer or vice-versa, you will need to utilize a USB cable to connect the handheld console to your computer. After connecting the PSP to the computer's USB port, you must place the PSP in USB Mode. If you forget to do this, the computer will not recognize the PSP.

      Turn on your PSP console.

      Take one end of the USB cable and insert it to the PSP's USB port.

      Take the other end of the USB cable and insert it to your computer's USB port.

      Navigate to the far left of the PSP's home menu utilizing the D-pad and find the "System Settings" tab.

      Scroll down the list to the "USB Connection" option and select it with the "X" button. This will place the PSP into USB Mode.
