How to Fix My Hacked Bricked PSP

Like many electronic devices, the Sony PSP can be modded/hacked. Modding a PSP entails installing custom firmware onto the device. This unlocks new features like playing games off of the PSP memory stick. This feature alone is usually enough to sway people to hack their devices. Sometimes, however, your PSP may become corrupted, or bricked. Fixing it is simple with a Pandora battery.

Things You'll Need

Pandora battery
Magic memory stick

Instructions

  Turn off your Sony PSP and remove the memory stick and battery from the device. Place these to the side.

  Insert your Magic memory stick into the PSP card reader. This memory stick holds the custom firmware that will be re-flashed to the PSP.

  Insert the Pandora battery and the PSP will turn on automatically, going into service mode. Press the "X" button twice to reinstall custom firmware onto your PSP.

  Press the "X" button once more to turn off the PSP after the install completes. Reinsert the normal battery and memory stick that you removed in step one. Turn the PSP on and the PSP will be fully functional again.
