How to Fix the Analog Stick on a PSP Slim

The Sony PSP Slim can sometimes run into hardware issues like a stuck analog stick. The analog stick can even break-off in some extreme cases. Reinstalling an analog stick on a PSP Slim is exactly the same as reinstalling one on a PSP Phat, and is very simple. You will have your PSP Slim running perfectly in no time.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off your Sony PSP Slim and remove the battery and memory stick from the device. Leave the battery cover off.

    • 2

Remove the two black screws in the battery bay with your Phillips head screwdriver. Remove the two screws from the opposite side of the device. Remove the final screw on the bottom of the PSP.

    • 3

Lift the PSP Slim cover off of the device. Use two fingernails to pry off the analog stick head located on the PSP Slim cover. Pop your new analog stick into the PSP Slim cover and press down firmly.

    • 4

Spray the can of air onto the PSP Slim cover around the analog stick to loosen it. This will make sure that the analog stick does not stick. If your analog stick is the only problem, simply use the can of air to loosen it.
