How to Fix a PSP UMD Reader

The PlayStation Portable (PSP) has a disc drive that plays games discs called ̶0;Universal Media Discs̶1; or ̶0;UMD̶1; for short. The UMD reader̵7;s door must be physically opened in order to insert a disc. The UMD reader̵7;s door can warp out of position after many uses and refuse to engage the latch that keeps it closed. Repairing the UMD reader̵7;s door so that it engages the latch doesn̵7;t require a trip to an authorized service center. You can fix the UMD reader̵7;s door yourself. The repair does not require special tools or skills and will not void the Sony warranty.
