How to Save YouTube Videos Onto a PSP

The PlayStation Portable, or PSP, is a popular mobile gaming device. The device is also a multimedia player and is capable of playing music and videos. PSP has marketed a special line of UMD discs that can hold PSP games or movies. You can also download movie files from your computer or websites like YouTube to your PSP device by utilizing a download management software especially designed to download YouTube videos.

      Download RealPlayer Downloader. This software is developed by Real which also is responsible for the popular RealPlayer media player. Once the software has integrated with your Web browser, a download option will appear over videos being viewed on YouTube. Click on the "Download" option and the software will download the videos to the "RealPlayer Download" folder in your "My Videos" folder. Once the video is downloaded, you will have to launch Real Converter, which comes bundled with RealPlayer Downloader. Drag your video into the interface and select the format you want to convert the YouTube FLV-formatted video to.

      Check out YouTube Downloader. This software will integrate itself into your Web browser. Once you begin viewing a video on YouTube, the software will generate a dialog box. Select the option on the dialog box to download the video. The software will then download and convert the video into a usable format such as MP4 for your PSP.

      Install 1-Click YouTube Video Downloader. Launch the program and paste the URL of the YouTube video into the interface. The software will then download the video. The video lacks conversion capabilities, so you will have to use another software to convert the downloaded FLV files into a usable format for the PSP.

      Insert your DUO memory stick into your PSP, unless you will be saving your YouTube videos to the device's internal memory.

      Put the device in USB mode. Power on the PSP. Select the "Settings" option, and then select "USB."

      Plug the USB cable into the PSP, and into your computer's USB port.

      Go to the Start menu on the computer's desktop, then select "My Computer." Locate the drive that represents your PSP device and double-click on it.

      Locate the "Video" folder inside the device. Then drag your downloaded YouTube movies on your computer and drop them into the Video folder.
