How to Remove a Scratch on a PSP Screen Using Brasso

Any portable game consoles are susceptible to screen scratches. PSP's are no exception. In some cases the screen might become so scratched that it obscures some part of the screen. If the scratches are deep, there is not much that can be done to repair them; the screen may have to be replaced. However, for minor scratches, a solution of Brasso may be all that is necessary to eliminate them from the PSP screen.

Things You'll Need

  • Brasso
  • 2 soft, lint free cloths
  • LCD screen wipes
  • PSP screen protector

Instructions

    • 1

Remove any screen protectors that you may have on the face of the PSP screen. They will prevent the Brasso from reaching the screen. If the screen itself is not damaged, and only the screen protector was damaged, then just purchase a new screen protector. Brasso will not remove scratches from a screen protector, just the screen itself.

    • 2

Place 3 to 5 drops of Brasso onto one of the soft cloths. Place the area where you dripped the Brasso onto the cloth over the tip of your finger. Gently rub the surface of the PSP screen with the Brasso covered finger in a circular, clockwise motion. Use brisk motions, but do not press down hard on the screen. Always use light pressure.

    • 3

Sprinkle 3 to 5 more drops of Brasso onto another section of cloth and place over the tip of your finger. Rub your finger in the opposite direction as before (this should be counter clockwise). Continue to use brisk, gentle motions.

    • 4

Rub the clean cloth in brisk circular motions all over the surface of the PSP screen. Rub in counterclockwise and clockwise directions. If there is residue left on the screen, rub it off in any direction necessary to remove all of the Brasso from the surface of the screen.

Inspect the screen to see if any scratches remain. If there are still scratches present on the surface of the screen, then repeat the whole process one more time until no further scratches remain. If not, then wipe the screen down with an LCD screen wipe to remove all remaining residue. Allow the screen to dry, then add a screen protector to the surface of the screen.
