How to Get Internet on a PSP Without an IP Address

If you manually set up the Internet connection on your Sony PSP, you'll have to enter in the IP address of the wireless network you're trying to connect to. If you don't know the IP address, a manual connection is out of the question as you don't have the information the PSP needs to properly connect. You can still connect to a wireless network and get your unit online, however, by configuring a few of your PSP's automatic connection settings.

Instructions

    • 1

Select "Settings" from the main menu on your Sony PSP.

    • 2

      Select "Network Settings."

    • 3

      Select "Infrastructure Mode."

    • 4

      Select "New Connection."

    • 5

      Select "Scan."

    • 6

Select from the list the name of the network that you are trying to connect to with your PSP.

    • 7

Type a name for your new connection. To keep things straight, use the same name as the name on the network you are connected to.

    • 8

Select "Save." Your Sony PSP will now be on the Internet and you didn't have to enter the network's IP address at any point.
