How to Download Google Videos Onto Your PSP

Google compiles a conglomeration of videos from different websites. Since many of these videos are not uploaded to Google itself, users will be redirected to the original web site to view and download the video. To download Google Videos to a PlayStation Portable, you need software capable of ripping videos from the web and downloading them to your computer. Download one of the free software programs available by using the links in the "Resources" section of this article, then use the directions below to download, convert and transfer videos to your PSP.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

  1. Install Video Downloading Software

    • 1

You can download RealPlayer Downloader for free from the link in the "Resources" section of this article. RealPlayer Downloader integrates itself into your web browser; whenever you begin to play a video, RealPlayer Downloader will ask if you want to download it. The video will appear in the "RealPlayer Downloads" folder in your "My Videos" folder within the "My Documents" folder if you choose to download it.

Orbit Downloader integrates itself into your web browser and is also fully functioning software. Orbit Downloader prompts you to download when watching a video online then downloads it to the default "Video" folder on your C: drive, unless you reset your preferences.

    • 3

VDownloader integrates popular video sites such as Google within the program itself. To download using this program, open the software and select the "Search" tab. At the top of the interface in the "Search" drop-down menu, select "Google." Enter your search term in the field at the top of the interface and press the "Search" button. To download, just press the "Download" option next to the video you want.

Convert the Video Using Downloading Software

    • 4

For RealPlayer, open the "RealPlayer Converter" software that came bundled with your software. Drag your video into the interface--under "Convert to," select "Video Formats" and then "MP4."

    • 5

In VDownloader, select the "Output Format" option in the top right corner of the interface and select MPEG.

    • 6

In Orbit Downloader there is no way to convert the video. The video will have to be downloaded in the correct format in order for it to transfer to your PSP using Orbit.

    Transfer Google Videos to PSP

    • 7

Insert your DUO memory stick into your PSP device unless you want to save your videos to your internal PSP memory.

    • 8

Turn on your PSP and put the device in USB mode. On the "Home" screen, select "Settings" then "USB."

    • 9

Connect your PSP to your computer using the USB cable.

    • 10

Click on the "Start" button in the lower left corner of your computer desktop and select "My Computer." Locate the "PSP/Removable Disk" folder in the left pane and double-click it.

    • 11

Drag and drop your downloaded and converted Google videos to the folder labeled "Video" inside the PSP/Removable Disk folder.
