How to Play Games on a PSP-1001

The PSP-1001 is the original model of Sony's PlayStation Portable handheld gaming system. It was slightly larger than later models, which led to its being dubbed the "Fat" PSP by the gaming press. The PSP 1001 still plays games on UMD ("universal media disc"), so if you want to get a game to play on your unit, all you need to do is turn on the PSP and insert the game into the disc compartment.

     Press the "Power" button to turn your PSP 1001. The main menu will appear on screen after a few seconds.

     Insert your PSP universal media disc into the disc tray on the rear of your PSP 1001.

     Wait a few seconds. The game that you inserted into your PSP will now load and you can use the controls on the face of the unit to control your actions in game.
