How to Connect a PSP to TV Via PS3

The PlayStation Portable is able to connect to a PS3 because both game consoles have the built-in ̶0;Remote Play̶1; function that Sony included in its operating systems. The PSP can wirelessly connect to a PS3 to see what the PS3 is transmitting to the TV to which it is attached. The procedure for enabling Remote Play causes no harm to either the PSP or the PS3, and requires only a few minutes to set up.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn on the PSP. Navigate to ̶0;Settings" and select ̶0;Network Settings." Press the ̶0;X̶1; button.

      Select ̶0;Infrastructure Mode̶1; in the new screen that appears. Press the ̶0;X̶1; button.

      Select ̶0;New Connection̶1; in the new screen that appears. Press the ̶0;X̶1; button.

      Select ̶0;Enter Manual̶1; in the new screen that appears. Press the direction pad to the right.

      Enter any name in the ̶0;SSID̶1; column of the new screen that appears using the onscreen keyboard. Press the ̶0;Enter̶1; key.

      Select ̶0;Set Up A New Connection̶1; in the new screen that appears. Press the ̶0;X̶1; button.

      Select ̶0;WPA-PSK̶1; in the new screen that appears. Press the direction pad to the right.

      Enter an eight-letter password in the ̶0;Password̶1; column in the new screen that appears using the onscreen keyboard. Press the ̶0;Enter̶1; key.

      Select ̶0;Easy̶1; in the new window that appears. Press the direction pad to the right twice. Press the ̶0;X̶1; button to save the settings.

      Turn on the PS3. Navigate to ̶0;Settings" and select ̶0;Network Settings.̶1; Select ̶0;Remote Play Connection Settings̶1; from the list presented to the right of Remote Play. Press the direction pad of the PS3 game controller to the right.

      Enter the same name in the ̶0;SSID̶1; column as was used in the SSID column for the PSP. Press the ̶0;Enter̶1; key on the onscreen keyboard when the name has been entered.

      Select ̶0;WPA-PSK̶1; in the new screen that appears. Press the direction pad to the right.

      Enter the same eight-letter password in the ̶0;Password̶1; column in the new screen that appears as was done on the PSP. Press the ̶0;Enter̶1; key.

      Press ̶0;X" when the new screen appears to return to the Home menu.

      Navigate to ̶0;Network" and select ̶0;Remote Play.̶1; Press the ̶0;X̶1; button.

      Navigate to ̶0;Network̶1; on the PSP and select ̶0;Remote Play.̶1; Press the ̶0;X̶1; button twice.

      Select the name that was put in the ̶0;SSID̶1; column from the list presented on the screen that has appeared. Press the ̶0;X̶1; button.

      Wait as the PSP connects to the PS3 through the wireless home network. You can now navigate through the Home menu to the ̶0;Video̶1; or ̶0;Photos̶1; or ̶0;Music̶1; icons, and see on the PSP what is being played on the TV by the PS3.
