How to Play YouTube Videos on a PSP

The PlayStation Portable (PSP) has wireless capabilities but is unable to view YouTube videos on its own Web browser. You can watch YouTube videos in real time on the PSP by streaming them from a PlayStation 3. The ̶0;Remote Play̶1; capability of the PS3 to view and transmit YouTube videos to the PSP is built into the operating system. You will have to adjust a few settings on both Sony game consoles, but no special skills will be required for you to play YouTube videos on the PSP.

Instructions

  Turn on the PS3. Press up on the network switch at the lower left corner of the PSP. On the PS3, navigate to the ̶0;Network̶1; icon. Select the ̶0;Remote Play̶1; icon that is beneath ̶0;Network.̶1; Press the ̶0;X̶1; button on the PS3 controller to activate the ̶0;Remote Play̶1; feature.

  Turn the PSP on. Navigate to the ̶0;Network̶1; icon. Select the ̶0;Remote Play̶1; icon that is beneath ̶0;Network.̶1; Press the ̶0;O̶1; button on the PSP to activate the ̶0;Remote Play̶1; feature.

  Select your wireless home network from the list of choices now presented on the PSP̵7;s LCD screen. Press the ̶0;O̶1; button.

  Press right twice on the PSP̵7;s direction pad to move through two screens. Wait as the PS3̵7;s Home menu appears on the PSP̵7;s screen.

  Navigate to ̶0;Network.̶1; Select the ̶0;Web browser̶1; icon that is beneath ̶0;Network.̶1; Press the ̶0;X̶1; button to activate the web browser.

  Click on ̶0;No̶1; in the screen that appears. Scroll down the list of websites that appear in a new screen. Select ̶0;YouTube̶1; from the list of websites. Press the ̶0;X̶1; button.

  Select a YouTube video from the YouTube website screen that appears. Press the ̶0;X̶1; button to play the YouTube video on the PSP.
