How to Remove PSP Slim Analog Nub

Like its chubbier brother the PSP Phat, the Sony PSP Slim has an analog nub as one of its two directional pads. Sometimes the analog nub becomes sticky and loses its fluid motion. It may also chip or break. If either of these occur, you will need to replace it. Replacing the analog nub on a PSP Slim is quite simple and you only need a flathead tool to complete the entire process.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off your Sony PSP and remove the battery from it.

    • 2

Locate the analog nub on the left of the PSP. Use you flathead tool to slowly wedge it underneath the nub.

    • 3

Use a finger as stability for the other side of the nub so it does not break off. Slowly pry the analog nub off of the PSP Slim with the tool and your other hand's finger. The analog nub will pop off.

    • 4

Place your new analog nub onto the opening and press in gently to pop it back into place.
