Things You'll Need
Instructions
Check your PSP for the version by looking at the last seven digits of the model number, which is located on the bottom of the PSP or in the battery compartment. There are four versions of the PSP: PSP-1001 (which cannot connect to a TV), PSP-2001, PSP-3001 and PSPgo. If you have a PSPgo, you don't need to worry about the version.
Obtain the correct AV cables for your version of the PSP and for the purpose you want to use the PSP on the TV. There are four types of AV cables that support pictures, videos, movies, music, and gaming: two component AV cables (SCPH-98563 for the PSPgo and SCPH-98550 for either PSP-2001 or -3001) and two composite AV cables (SCPH-98562 for the PSPgo and SCPH-98548 for the PSP).
Each AV cable supports gaming, but the two component AV cables can only do it on progressive scan TVs and the SCPH-98548 composite AV cable only supports gaming when connected to the PSP-3001.
Connect the AV cable to the "Multi-Use" port or the "Video Out" port on the bottom of the PSP.
Insert each colored end of the AV cable into the AV port of the same color on the TV. Red goes into the red port, white goes into the white one, and yellow goes into the yellow one.
Turn on the TV and select the appropriate source to display the PSP.
Turn on the PSP and press and hold the "Display" button for five seconds to bring up an image from the PSP on the TV. The connection is now ready.
