Things You'll Need
Instructions
Flip the WLAN switch on the top of your PSP to the on position.
Power up the console and press the "Home" button to bring up the Home menu.
Navigate to the left to the Settings menu, and scroll down to Internet Settings. Press "X."
Choose "Infrastructure Mode" and press "X." Then choose "[New connection]" to create a Internet connection profile. You will need to set up one of these for each of the hotspots you regularly access.
Select "Scan" to search for your wireless router to make the console search for nearby wireless access. When the list appears, choose your preferred wireless network.
Follow the on-screen prompts to make any edits to the SSID, then select and input WLAN security codes or passwords, if applicable. Press the "Right" directional button to move through these screens.
Select "Easy" to have the PSP find its own IP address, or "Custom" if you need to input a specific one. Follow the on-screen prompts to input the custom MAC and IP address information if applicable.
Press the"Right" directional button to accept the connection name, or "X" to input a custom one. A custom name appears each time you select this connection, and does not impact performance or web connectivity, so you can change it if you so choose.
Scroll through the settings and confirm that they are correct. When ready, press the "Right" directional button again. Then press the "X" button to save the settings.
Wait for the "Save Completed" message, then press "X" to initiate a connection test. The screen will change to the testing results page, and when "Internet Connection" reports "Succeeded," your PSP is connected to the Internet.
