How to Change the Color on the PSP Screen

One of the features on most modern electronics is the ability to personalize the device to feel a little more like your own. For example, you can change the background color of the PSP console's main menu, which makes the Home menu feel a little more like home. Fortunately, changing the background color and applying themes to change other elements of the PSP Home screen, are extremely easy.

Instructions

  1. Changing the Color

    • 1

Turn on the console and press the "Home" button to return to the Home screen.

    • 2

Scroll left to the "Settings" menu and choose "Theme Settings."

    • 3

      Highlight "Color" and press "X."

    • 4

Scroll through the available colors, until you find the one you like the most, and press "X" to select it when ready. By default, the option is set to "By Month" which changes the colors on your Home screen automatically each month.

    Applying a Theme

    • 5

Download a custom theme from either the "Playstation Store" or the internet. You should be able to find themes around the internet, in places like the Sony website (see Resources). If you are downloading the themes to your computer, you'll need to put them on the Playstation memory card through USB connection: plug a compatible USB cable into the computer and PSP, then select "USB Connection" under the "Settings" menu.

    • 6

Press "Home" to return to the Home screen, and scroll right to "Settings."

    • 7

Select "Theme Settings" and scroll through the available themes. The themes you have downloaded and put on the Memory Stick Duo will show up next to a memory stick icon.

    • 8

Press X to confirm the selection. The system will apply the theme, and the screen may go blank for a few seconds.
