How to Make a Slim PSP Pandora Battery

PSP is a portable version of a PlayStation 2. It comes with a wide range of applications, including a music player, video player and Internet browser. However, as any other device, it deteriorates with time. Moreover, it can get bricked (all your data gets corrupted and erased). If a PSP gets bricked, this might lead to permanent damage to your PSP. This is why Pandora batteries are created. A Pandora battery's main function is to disable the EEPROM (erasable programmable read only memory), which stores any kind of programmable information.

Instructions

    • 1

Separate your Sony battery into two halves by using the guitar pick. Very carefully, insert it in the division line between the two batteries and pry it open.

    • 2

Locate chip S93C56 (this is the number printed on it). It's located on the leftmost side, in the bottom end. There are eight little pins surrounding the chip.

    • 3

Ask someone to hold the soldering iron on the pins. Once the soldering becomes liquid, use an X-Acto knife with a sharp tip and put it underneath the fifth pin. Pop the pin up with the knife.

    • 4

Attach the battery halves again by using waterproof glue. Now you have a Pandora battery and your EEPROM is erased.
