How to Put Music on PSP Using Windows Media Player

The PlayStation Portable, or PSP, is much more than a portable gaming system--it is a portable media device with many features. If you have a nice collection of media files on your Windows Media Player library, you can transfer them onto your PSP memory stick. By transferring the files from your computer to your PSP, you can listen to your favorite music, watch videos and look at pictures while on the go. The files are transferred onto a memory stick, so be sure you have enough memory before beginning the transfer.

Select "Settings" on the PSP Cross Media Bar. Scroll down until you see "USB Connection," and then press the "X" button. Windows Media Player will ask you if you want to sync your library with the PSP--click "Cancel."

    • 6

Wait for the files to transfer over to the PSP's memory stick, and then take the USB cable out of your PSP. Disconnect the USB cable from your computer.

    • 8

Locate the new media files on your PSP by choosing either "Music," Video" or "Photo."
