Open the battery door and remove the battery from the back of the PSP.
Unscrew the two black screws in the battery bay with the Phillips screwdriver. The first screw is located at the top of the battery bay. The second screw is located near the bottom under the warranty sticker. Be aware that removing this sticker will void your warranty.
Unscrew the two black screws on the right side of the back of the PSP. Both of these screws are located in small holes on the back of the PSP.
Unscrew the silver screw on the bottom of the PSP. This screw is located next the barcode on the bottom of the PSP.
Lift off the PSP faceplate. With that removed, you can repair any broken components on your PSP. The joystick is located on the faceplate, the LCD screen can be replaced or repaired and the motherboard and other components lie underneath the LCD screen.
