Removing Corrupted Data
Attach your PSP to your computer using a USB connector cable. Thee cable is included with the purchase of the PSP.
Power on your PSP and select ̶0;USB Mode̶1; from the far left of the cross media bar. The contents of your Memory Stick Pro Duo will be displayed on your computer screen.
Click the corrupted files and drag them into your computer's recycle bin or trash can in the same way you would delete any other computer files.
Press ̶0;Circle̶1; on the PSP to exit USB mode. Your PSP no longer will have the corrupted data on the memory stick and should function normally.
Clearing Out Data
Put your 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo in your PSP and power on the console.
Navigate using the cross media bar to a section from which you wish to free up memory. Select the "Memory Stick" icon from the "Music," "Photo," "Video" or "Game." You also can select ̶0;Saved Data Utility̶1; from the "Game" section.
Press ̶0;X̶1; to view the available files. Highlight the file you wish to delete and press ̶0;Triangle.̶1;
Scroll down to ̶0;Delete̶1; and press ̶0;X.̶1; Press ̶0;X̶1; again to confirm the deletion. Continue to do so until you are able to save game data or download new content for your PSP.
Formatting Unreadable Stick
Insert the problematic 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo into your PSP and turn the system on.
Select ̶0;Settings̶1; from the cross media bar and scroll down to ̶0;System Settings.̶1; Press ̶0;X̶1; to access the sub menu and select ̶0;Format Memory Stick.̶1;
Press ̶0;X̶1; to confirm the formatting of the stick. Your PSP will delete any content on the stick and reformat to match how the PSP stores data and organizes files.
