How to Save UMD Games onto a Memory Stick

The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) is a hand-held console that plays UMD (Universal Media Disc) games and stores data on Sony Memory Sticks. You can remove and transfer the data saved on the memory stick to other PSPs, or even transfer it to your personal computer. As long as you are familiar with the procedures specific to the UMD game you are playing, saving files to the Memory Stick is a simple process.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the Memory Stick into your PSP's memory stick slot.

    • 2

Insert the UMD game into your PSP's UMD port, and turn your PSP on.

    • 3

Choose the icon for your game in your PSP's main menu to begin playing the game.

    • 4

Save the game in accordance with your game's saving procedures. The game will automatically save to your memory stick.
