How to Add an Emulator to a PSP Without a Pandora Battery

One of the best things about the Sony PSP is its ability to play other gaming console's games. This feature is made possible through the use of an emulator. Emulators do exactly what the name would suggest. They emulate the hardware of an older console, like the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), making it possible to play their games on the PSP. You will need to first install custom firmware on your PSP in order to use the emulators. To install custom firmware without a Pandora battery, the only other option you have is to install it via the "ChickHEN" method. Due to copyright reasons that process cannot be taught here.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Sony PSP and wait for it to boot up. Your PSP has a USB port at the top of it. Locate it and plug your USB cable into it. Plug the other end into the USB port on your computer.

    • 2

Open your PSP memory stick on your computer and you will see many folders inside of it. Locate the "PSP" folder and open it.

    • 3

Open the "Game" folder inside of the "PSP" folder. This is where your emulators will go. Download one or more of the emulators from the resource section of this guide.

    • 4

Copy and paste the emulators into the "Game" folder and wait as they transfer over. When the process is complete, press the "O" button on your PSP to eject it from the computer. Unplug your USB cable.

    • 5

Navigate through your PSP menu until you get to the game section. Select the emulator from the list of installed games.
