How to Fix a PSP With No Amber Light

If the amber light on your PlayStation Portable does not illuminate, there is most likely a problem with your power fuse. Try plugging your PSP into the power adapter to ensure it is not just the battery. If you still have no amber light, you need to resolder the power fuse.

Instructions

    • 1

Take off the faceplate. There are five screws on the back that need to be removed. Two screws are on the right side. Another two screws are located in the battery bay, with one of those beneath the warranty sticker. The final one is on the bottom next to the bar code. With the screws removed, the lid will pop off.

    • 2

Remove the LCD screen. Pop off the button bar on the bottom of the screen. With that removed, the screen will slide out.

    • 3

Remove the LCD brace by unscrewing the seven silver screws on the front and two silver screws from the battery bay.

    • 4

Locate the ̶0;TD̶1; fuse in the top right corner of the motherboard.

    • 5

Solder over the "TD" fuse to create a continuity bridge. This will repair the bridge and allow you to charge your battery.
