How to Watch a MP4 File on the PSP

MP4, or MPEG-4 Part 14, is a common high quality video format. MP4 video will play on the PSP. No conversion is necessary. Transferring MP4 files (and any other PSP supported format) to the PSP is easy and can be done by using a simple drag and drop method. Depending on the size of the MP4, you may need to add a memory stick to your PSP for it to have sufficient storage space.

Transferring Video to PSP

  Insert a memory stick into the memory slot on the PSP. Turn the PSP on. Wait for the PSP's system menu to load. Select "Settings." Select "USB Mode."

  Connect the PSP to your computer using the USB sync cable. Wait until your computer detects the PSP. Click "My Computer." Select "PSP/Removable Disk."

  Click the "Media" folder. Select "Videos."

  Drag and drop the MP4 files you want on the PSP into the "Videos" folder.
