How to Connect My PSP to My DSL Modem

Wireless gaming is becoming more and more popular with systems like the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii. The first portable gaming device to offer wireless gaming was the Sony PSP, which does an admiral job playing games online. But you first need to be connected to a wireless access point like your DSL modem/Wi-Fi router combination.

      Connect your DSL modem to your wireless router. Take an Ethernet cable and connect it from the ̶0;Out̶1; port from the DSL modem into the ̶0;In̶1; port of the wireless modem. Turn both the modem and router on and let them connect to each other.

      Turn on your Sony PSP by sliding the power button up until the PSP screen turns on. Navigate to the ̶0;Settings̶1; part of the PSP menu. All of the settings are located on the left side of the PSP menu. At the bottom of the PSP settings menu is an option named ̶0;Network Settings.̶1; Select that.

      Select ̶0;Infrastructure Mode̶1; and then ̶0;New Connection̶1; from the next screen. Select the ̶0;Scan̶1; option and your PSP will look for the nearest wireless connections. Select your router from the list. Your router will be the strongest signal available, and will match the name of the router manufacturer.

      Select ̶0;Easy̶1; on the next page for the ̶0;Address Settings̶1; and save the settings. Press the ̶0;X̶1; button to test your connection, and you will connect to the access point. Press the ̶0;O̶1; button to exit the settings menu. You are now connected to the Internet with your DSL modem.
