Put the soft cloth on a table. Remove the memory card from the PSP's memory slot. Take off the battery compartment and remove the battery. Put the battery and the battery compartment down on a corner of the soft cloth.
Place the PSP face down on the clean cloth. Scratch off the warranty sticker from inside of the battery compartment using the flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver. Use the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver to remove the two screws revealed under the sticker at the left side. Use the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver to remove the two screws flanking the disc drive door lid at the top rim of the PSP. Use the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver to remove the screw from the left and right side of the PSP. Put the screws in the ashtray.
Turn the PSP face up and put it down on the soft cloth. Pull the faceplate off with your left hand while holding the PSP's bottom case down with your right. Set the faceplate aside.
Insert the flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver into a corner of the button bar at the top inside edge of the bottom case. Wiggle the button bar free from the bottom case. Repeat this on the other side of the button bar. Lift the button bar up off the bottom case. Remove the small connector going to the circuit board by squeezing the sides with your fingers and pulling it straight out. Set the button bar aside.
Insert the flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver between the LCD display and the circuit board on the left side where there is a notch in the metal shield. Wiggle the LCD display loose. Repeat this on the right side of the LCD display. Lift the LCD display up carefully. Flip the small clasps covering the connectors from the LCD display on the circuit board upward using your fingernail. Pull up on the connectors to free them from the circuit board. Set the LCD display aside.
Locate the network switch that can now be accessed in the lower left side of the bottom case. Insert the flat-edged screwdriver into the right side of the network switch where it attaches to the bottom case. Wiggle the flat-edged screwdriver to loosen the network switch. Pull the network switch out of the bottom case using the tweezers, taking care not to disconnect the cable going from it to the circuit board.
Blow out the space on the bottom case where the network switch was positioned with compressed air. Moisten a cotton swab with alcohol and rub it against the sides of the network switch. Rub another moistened cotton swab in the open slot where the network switch was positioned.
Replace the network switch in its original position inside the bottom case. Reattach the cables from the LCD display to the circuit board and put the LCD display back into position. Reattach the cables from the button bar to the circuit board and put the button bar back into position. Close the faceplate on the bottom case and reattach the screws. Put the battery back into the battery compartment and close the battery compartment. Turn the PSP on and activate the WiFi by using the network switch that has now been fixed.
