How to Convert Video for PSP Using Roxio

Despite claiming to offer the ability to convert video files to a format usable on the Sony PSP portable gaming system, Roxio Media Creator does not actually perform this task. Because of various issues with the programming code, conversions using Roxio will result in an unplayable file. Thankfully, there is an extremely effective, free alternative to Roxio Media Creator which can easily transfer video files of many different formats to your PSP system.

  Navigate to the PSP Video 9 home page.

  Click the "Download Now" button to download the latest version of the PSP Video 9 software for your operating system. Run the installer file and install the software to your hard drive.

  Connect your PSP system to your PC using a mini-USB to USB cord.

  Run the PSP Video 9 Software and select "Search for PSP." The software will attempt to automatically locate your PSP and configure the program for it.

  Select "Convert" from the left-hand menu, then select "One-Click Transcode," locate any files you wish to convert in the file browser window and open them to begin the conversion process.

  Select "copy" from the left-hand menu, then select "Copy video to PSP" to move any converted files from your PC to your PSP's video folder.
