Train Games for PSP

Train games for the PlayStation Portable are not common, but some are out there. One of them is popular in the United States (the Mobile Train Simulator), but the other four have released, as of December 2009, only in Japan. You can get Mobile Train Simulator from shopping websites like eBay, but for the Japanese versions, you will need to have a Japanese-capable PlayStation Portable and import them from Japanese video game websites (PlayAsia.com is an excellent import website).
  1. Mobile Train Simulator

    • "Mobile Train Simulator" is a train simulation game that gives you three of the main Tokyo train lines, the Toyoko Line, Denentoshi Line and the Oimachi Line. In addition to these famous lines, this video game also has train lines that are updated as time goes by. You are able to conduct eight different-sized trains through the railroads of Tokyo. In gameplay, you can play in the Train Simulator mode and practice driving, or you can play the learning mode, which allows you to learn about the railroad lines of Tokyo.

Densha de Go! Pocket Toukaidousen Hen

    • An expansion from the Mobile Train Simulator video game, "Tokaido-sen Hen" focuses on the famous Tokaido train line. The Tokaido Line, stretching from Tokyo to Kobe, focuses on the same simulating modes as its predecessor. A training simulation mode allows you to carry passengers, fix your train and bring people to their destinations. In addition, a learning mode teaches you about the train lines in Tokyo and Kobe.

Densha de Go! Pocket: Chuuousen Hen

    • Another expansion from the "Densha de Go! Pocket" series allows you to control the trains that reside in the Chou district of Tokyo. This expansion pack introduces a new card system that allows you to transfer information and stats to your friends. In addition to your information and stats being transferred to your friends, you can also transfer the information to the Yamanote expansion pack.

Densha de Go! Pocket: Osaka Kanjousen Hen

    • An expansion pack for "Densha De Go!" series, this edition displays Osaka's Kanjou train line. This 40-minute line video game allows the same feature of allowing players to transfer information to other players. The information consists of your rank and driving information. Like the other games, you can coast the Kanjou train line or practice the train line. This being a 40-minute real line, simulating the train comes as a grand challenge that makes this expansion pack difficult.

Densha de Go! Pocket: Yamanotesen Hen

    • "Yamate-sen Hen's" train simulation video game focuses on the Yamanote train line in Japan. The Yamanote is one of the busiest trains, as it takes passengers through some of the best spots in Japan. This expansion pack allows you to conduct through Shinjuku, Ueno and Shibuya and strategize through the toughest, biggest train line in Japan.
