Things You'll Need
Instructions
Put the soft cloth down on a work surface. Put the PSP face down on the soft cloth. Remove the battery compartment. Take out the PSP battery and put it on the cloth.
Insert the jeweler's screwdriver into the seam between the top and bottom halves of the battery. Wiggle the screwdriver to separate the two halves. Pull the top half off of the bottom half. Put the top half aside.
Locate the chip labeled S93C56 on the circuit board inside of the bottom half of the battery. Locate pin 5 by going from the uppermost left corner of the chip and counting down. Carefully insert the tip of a utility knife against pin 5 almost where it touches the circuit board.
Have another person hold the tip of the fine tip soldering iron against the pin. Wait for the solder holding the pin to the circuit board to loosen. Lift the pin up and off of the circuit board with the utility knife. Take the soldering iron off of the pin. Let the solder on the chip cool.
Apply bonding glue to the top half of the battery. Re-assemble the top and bottom half of the battery and hold the two halves until the bonding glue takes hold. Let the bonding glue set. The original battery has now been turned into a Pandora battery for use with the original, first-generation PSP.
