How Do I Add Pictures to a PSP Without Using a USB?

Transferring files from a computer onto a PSP is typically done using a USB cable that connects the console with a PC. For gamers who do not own a USB cable or need a different way to transfer media such as photos, two options are available. The Memory Stick Pro Duo, a type of flash memory card produced by Sony, can house data from both the PSP and computer. Another solution is to download photos directly off an Internet photo sharing site, which requires no additional equipment.
  1. Memory Stick Transfer

    • To use a Memory Stick Pro Duo to add pictures to your PSP, begin by transferring your photos from your digital camera to your computer. You can do this by removing the memory card from the camera and inserting it into a slot on your computer. Take the images off the memory card and place them in a folder on your computer's desktop. Once you have transferred the photos, you can remove the memory card

Next, insert a Memory Stick Pro Duo into your computer. This is the only memory card compatible with the PSP, and many computers also support this card format. Open the folder where your photos are stored, and open your memory stick if it did not automatically open upon insertion into your computer (you can locate your memory stick under ̶0;Computer̶1; or ̶0;My Computer̶1; on a PC). Drag the photos from their original location into the memory stick window. Once all the photos you wish to put on your PSP are on the memory stick, you can remove it from your computer.

Place your memory stick into the PSP, in the slot on the left side near the directional pad. Once inserted, power on the PSP and choose ̶0;Photo̶1; from the cross-media bar. You pictures will be located under the Memory Stick subfolder. Press ̶0;Start̶1; to view a slide show of your photos, or press ̶0;X̶1; to view each photo individually, crop them or set them as your wallpaper.

    Downloading Photos

    • If your computer doesn't support a Memory Stick Pro Duo, you can upload your images and then download them to the PSP. Log on to a photo sharing site such as Flickr and set up an account if you don't already have one. Upload the pictures you wish to place on your PSP. Next, power on your PSP and navigate to Flickr using the console's web browser. It works the same as a standard browser. Log in to your account and view your photos. Highlight the photo you wish to save on your PSP by moving the cursor over the image with your analog stick. Press the ̶0;Triangle̶1; button and select ̶0;File̶1; from the bottom menu. Choose ̶0;Save Image̶1; from the menu and then select ̶0;/PHOTO̶1; as the destination on your PSP. Once you select ̶0;Save,̶1; the picture will download into your PSP. You can then repeat this process with the rest of your photos. Now all your photos will be on your PSP under the ̶0;Photo̶1; menu option.
