How to Fix PSP Analog Control

Breaking your PSP's analog joystick can be detrimental to your PSP's ability to play games properly. Becoming too zealous in your game playing can result in simply breaking the analog stick off. Sony has made it easy to get into your PSP and fix it yourself. This will allow you to avoid any charges from Sony to fix your PSP for you.

Instructions

      Turn off your PSP by sliding the power button up. On the back, a battery cover covers the PSP battery. Remove both the battery cover and the battery.

      Remove the two screws located underneath the PSP battery, and place them to the side. You will remove five screws total. Unscrew the two screws on the opposite side of the PSP battery. Remove the final screw on the bottom edge of the PSP.

      Grip the PSP from both sides and gently pull the front cover off of the PSP. This will display all of the inner workings of the PSP, including the analog joystick assembly. Lift the joystick assembly out and up to remove it from the PSP.

      Locate your new joystick assembly and snap it into the spot where you removed the old one. Place the cover back onto the PSP and replace all of the screws that you removed. Place the battery back into the PSP and snap the cover into place.
