How to Reprogram a PSP Pandora Battery

Sometimes a Sony PSP stops running. One fix could be to reprogram the device using a Pandora battery. If your PSP does not turn on or turns on and shows only a black screen, your PSP is bricked and cannot be used without a service tool like the Pandora battery. By inserting the battery into the PSP when it is bricked, it will actually bring your PSP back to its default settings and software.

Turn on your Sony PSP and wait as it boots to its home menu screen. If you have a different theme installed than the regular Sony theme, your home menu will look different but the icons will be in essentially the same spots. Plug your A/C adapter into your PSP to make sure it holds a healthy charge during the conversion process.

Select the option that says "Make Your Pandora Battery Normal." Press the X button to confirm your choice and wait as your battery is converted into a normal one again. The program will exit itself and your battery will be normal again.
