If you are a PSP owner and you love playing your portable gaming device, the thought of the joystick breaking off would be terrifying. If this happens, it reduces your PSP to paperweight status -- unless you decide to fix it.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the five screws that hold the PSP cover onto the PSP. Two screws are located beneath the battery cover. Two screws are located on the opposite side of the battery, and one is located on the bottom edge of the PSP.

    • 2

Pop off the PSP faceplate. To do this, grab the PSP from the front with one hand and the back with the other hand, then pull it apart.

    • 3

Use your flathead screwdriver to pop off the remaining pieces of the broken joystick. Do this carefully so you don't touch the motherboard located beneath the joystick.

    • 4

Reattach your PSP faceplate and secure the screws. Locate your new PSP joystick and pop it onto the tab where your old one was. Turn on your PSP and verify that your joystick works.
