How to Upload Videos on PSP

More than just a gaming device, the PSP is able to connect to the Internet, display photos and videos, and can even sync up to a PS3. The PSP uses Sony's custom memory stick as the main storage drive. Transferring videos from your computer to this memory card can allow the PSP to play videos. The PSP is particular about the video formats it will play, requiring you to convert the format to a recognizable video format such as MP4.

Things You'll Need

  • PSP video conversion software
  • Sony memory card

Instructions

    • 1

Download video conversion software to change your video into the correct format. You may do so by selecting the link in the Resource section below. Install the PSP Video 9 program on your computer by running the program once it downloads. You will have the option to choose which file you wish to convert, and which device it is meant for (i.e., iPod, PSP, etc.).

    • 2

Insert the Sony memory stick into your computer. The memory stick usually needs an adapter to fit into a memory card reader or USB port.

    • 3

Check for a "Video" folder. There should be a folder labeled "Video" on the memory stick. If not, create a new folder under the memory stick's root folder labeled "101MNV01." When navigating the memory stick on your operating system, the folder should read: "/MP_ROOT/101MNV01/."

Drag the newly created video file to the "Video" folder (or the above created folder), and insert the memory stick back into the PSP. You should now be able to find and play those videos under the "Video" menu of your PSP.
