How to Import Movies on a PSP

Sony's PlayStation Portable handheld gaming system is really a jack of all trades--in addition to playing video games as expected, the little system can also hold digital pictures, music and even movies. Importing movies onto a PSP involves simply connecting the device to your computer and dragging a few files into a very specific folder. Depending on the size of the movie files you're importing, this can be done in just a few minutes.

Connect your PSP to your computer using the included USB link cable.

Select the "Settings" option on your PSP's main menu. Navigate to "USB Connection" and press the "X" button to turn it on.

    • 4

Open the "My Computer" icon on your computer's desktop. This will bring up a list of storage drives currently connected to your computer. Now that you've enabled your PSP's USB connection, it will be listed among the "Removable Storage" drives.

    • 5

Drag the movie files you want to store on your PSP into the folder in "My Computer" that represents your PSP's memory card. Depending on the size of the movie files and the speed of your hard drive, this could take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. As the files are copied into this folder, they are automatically copied to your PSP.
