Instructions

    • 1

Remove the battery cover on the back of the PSP. There are two screws behind that need to be removed, but first use the hair dryer to soften the warranty sticker enough to remove it without damaging it. Remove both screws.

    • 2

Remove both screws on the opposite side of battery cover and one screw on the underside edge of the PSP.

    • 3

Remove the analog stick thumb pad by pulling up gently on it. Gently lift the PSP faceplate off of the device. On the bottom of the screen, there is a line of buttons that need to be removed, but first you need to disconnect the cable going from the buttons to the motherboard. Lift the brown clasp that is connecting the cable and pull the cable out. Remove the button bar. From here, you can replace all of the buttons on the PSP if they are broken.

Insert your flat head screwdriver into the space between the screen and screen support system. Twist the screwdriver slightly to release the two support clips. Gently lift the screen out of the support carefully not to damage any of the cables. Release the two cable clasps by lifting them up and pulling the cable out gently.

Fold the screen down and detach it from the PSP. If you have a broken screen, you can replace it with a new LCD screen and put the PSP back together. The two most common fixes for a PSP owner are replacing the screen and gamepad buttons.
