How to Download Music Videos Onto Your PSP for Free

In addition to playing a number of video games, Sony's PlayStation Portable hand held gaming system can also play videos. The amount of videos your PSP can hold depends only on the size of your system's memory stick. By using just an Internet connection and the link cable that came with your PSP, you can download any number of high quality music videos to your device free of charge.

Instructions

Download music videos. Services like Apple's iTunes Music Store (accessible through their iTunes computer software) allow users to download a number of popular music videos to their computer's hard drive free of charge. Simply search for the artist or song title related to the video you wish to obtain and download the file to your hard drive.

    • 2

Connect your PSP to your computer using the device's USB link cable. One end of the cable plugs into the MicroUSB port on the side of the PSP and the other plugs into an empty USB port on your computer.

    • 3

Mount your PSP's memory stick as a drive on your computer. This will let you drag and drop files directly onto your PSP's memory stick. To do this, navigate to the "Settings" menu on the PSP and select "USB Connection." Press the "X" button on the device to initiate the USB connection.

    • 4

Open "My Computer." Click on the folder that represents your PSP. Click on the folder in this directory called "MP_Root" (without quotation marks), and then again on the folder labeled "100MNV01."

    • 5

Drag your music video files into this folder. They will immediately be copied directly onto your PSP via the USB link cable.

    • 6

Play your music videos by selecting their name under the "Video" category on the PSP's main menu.
