How to Fix a Crashed PSP

The PSP video game console is a very complex miniature computer. If the PSP should be dropped or if the battery pack becomes dislodged while it is doing an update to the operating system, the entire PSP will crash and cease functioning. Bringing the PSP back to "life" so that you can use it doesn't require sending it in for repair, as you can fix it yourself, saving you time and money as you get your "crashed" PSP working again.

Things You'll Need

  • PSP power-adapter charger
  • UMD with firmware update
  • Camel's hair brush
  • Cotton swab
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Lint-free cloth

Press the Power button and wait as the UMD disc loads in the firmware update and reboots the PSP.
