Things You'll Need
Instructions
Remove the PSP battery cover. There are two screws that need to be removed here. Remove the top screw first. The other screw is underneath the warranty sticker, so you need to use a hair dryer to heat the sticker and remove it without damaging it to maintain the warranty. Remove the sticker, followed by the screw.
Remove the other two screws located on the opposite side of the battery cover. Remove the last screw located on the bottom edge of the PSP. Pop off the PSP faceplate after you remove the last screw. On the bottom edge of the screen, there is a button bar that is connected to the PSP via a cable. Use a flat tool to lift the brown clasp and pull out the cable. Remove the battery bar.
Insert your flat-head screwdriver in between the LCD and the screen support and twist slightly to pop the screen out of its frame. Gently fold the screen down without pulling out the two cable that connect the screen to the PSP. Pop open the two clasps and gently pull out the cables. Do not break these clasps, as they cannot be replaced.
Line the new screen assembly up with where you just removed the old screen. Plug the two cables into the PSP motherboard and fold the screen up to lock it into the screen support. Turn on the PSP to test the new screen. Reconnect the button bar with its cable and place the faceplate back onto the PSP. Screw the screws back into the PSP to secure the faceplate.
Turn the PSP on one more time to test the screen again. If it all works, enjoy your new PSP screen.
