Things You'll Need
Instructions
Determine whether the screen needs to be removed. With cracks and serious scratches, this is most often needed. However, minor scratches and dirt may be removed with a wet cloth. Display problems often have nothing to do with the screen and stem from deeper system problems, so replacing the screen (and voiding your warranty) may not help.
Remove the battery and memory stick from the PSP. Next, remove all five screws holding the PSP together. Find two behind where the battery sits, two on the right side of the back of the PSP and one on the bottom. Lift the faceplate off the top of the PSP.
Remove the metal casing holding the LCD screen. Gently pry back on the bottom and top edges of the metal casing until it can be removed. The cables are still connected, so fold the screen down to uncover them.
Pull up the latches holding the cables in place and unplug them. Your screen and all its connections should be out. Pull the LCD screen out of the metal casing by prying back on the metal tabs. There should be two tabs on each short end of the screen. After prying on the tabs, flip the screen out.
Place your new LCD screen inside the metal casing. Connect the cables into their slots and set the latches. Place the metal casing back into the PSP. Place the faceplate on top of the PSP and reinsert the screws.
