How to Connect Your Slim PSP to the TV

Gamers who want to experience the media from their PSP on a larger screen can connect any PSP Slim to a television screen using AV cables developed for the console. Depending on the cable, the PSP Slim can connect to both HDTV's and standard definition televisions. Newer models of the PSP Slim can even display games on a television screen.

AV composite or component cable

  Insert either a component or composite AV cable into the bottom of a powered off PSP. Component cables are used for high definition televisions while composite cables are used in standard definition televisions.

  Plug the other end of the cable into the appropriate slots on the television. Component cables feature five colored plugs while composite cables only feature three.

  Turn on your television and switch the display mode to the setting associated with where the cable has been attached, such as "Video 1" or "Input 2."

  Power on the PSP and press the "Display" button for 5 seconds. This button has an image of a square imprinted on it.

  Use the PSP to control the image that has appeared on the television.

  Press the "Display" button again to exit this mode.
