How to Fix PSP Scratches

The Playstation Portable (PSP) features a glass screen that is susceptible to smudges and scratches. These scratches can interfere with how well players are able to see the games they are attempting to play. Gamers can fix these scratches on their own without having to purchase a replacement screen.

Instructions

    • 1

Power off the PSP and remove any UMD discs and memory sticks from the system. Make sure the PSP is not plugged into the charging cable.

    • 2

Place a small amount of the polish on a clean, soft rag. Brasso and Silvo are two tested brands of polish. No more than a few drops is needed.

    • 3

Gently rub the PSP's screen with the rag in a clockwise direction for three minutes. Try to keep the polish on the screen only.

    • 4

Rub the screen in a counter-clockwise motion for an additional three minutes.

    • 5

Wipe away all the excess polish from the PSP using a clean cloth.

    • 6

Allow the screen to dry, then use a computer screen cleaning wipe to remove any smudges that may have been left behind.

    • 7

Repeat the process several times to remove all possible scratches.
