Connect your Sony PSP to your computer via the USB cable.
Power on the gaming device and in a moment the computer will state it has detected new hardware.
Open "My Computer" ("Computer" in newer Windows versions) and look to see what file abbreviation your PSP is given.
Launch the anitvirus software you have on your computer. You can download several virus-scanning software products for free online from www.cnet.com.
Select the PSP drive to scan for viruses. When the scan has completed, it will display any viruses it has found on the device. Select "Remove" and the viruses will be removed from the Sony PSP.
