PSP Image Tutorials

Sony's PSP is a world-renowned handheld device which supports video games, movies and an Internet browser all in the palm of your hand. With the vast array of customization options available on the PSP, knowing how to do one specific thing can seem complicated. In this article you'll learn how to put images on your PSP and apply them as wallpapers.
  1. What You Need

    • In order to upload images onto your PSP and use them as your background or wallpaper, you will need a USB cable, a Memory Stick Pro Duo and a fully charged PSP.

    How to Upload Images

    • You must first have your Sony PSP and USB cable on hand. Connect your PSP to your computer via a USB port. Once connected, activate your PSP and navigate to the left until you find the "USB Connection" option on the home screen.

Now that you are connected, go into "My Computer" and open the file for the PSP (it will either say "PSP," "Drive F:," "F:" or "Removable Disk"). There will be a folder that says "PICTURE" and a folder which says "PSP." If you'd like to simply upload pictures and have them there to look at on your memory stick, then open this folder and place your images there. If, however, you'd like to create folders which separate some pictures from others, open the folder that says "PSP."

Once you've opened the PSP folder, there should be a folder which says "PHOTO." This folder should be empty, and now you can create your custom folders. Right-click, select "New," and then "Folder." Once the folder appears, rename it however you'd like. Drag and drop, or copy and paste pictures into either the "PHOTO" folder or the folder you created in "PHOTO" and they will appear on your PSP. Simply press the "circle" button to disconnect your PSP safely.

    How to Set Wallpapers

    • You now have uploaded your images onto your PSP. In order to set these images as backgrounds, go to your home screen. Scroll over to select "Photo." Once you have selected "Photo," scroll down to "Memory Stick." Here you will find all of the images you have uploaded. If there are no images, refer to Section 2 again, or try placing images in the "PICTURE" folder instead.

Select the image you would like to set as your wallpaper. Once your image is selected, the image should enlarge itself to fit your screen, or, if too small, as large as the PSP can open it. Press the "triangle" button, and scroll one space to the left where you will find the "Set as Wallpaper" icon. Select this icon and the PSP will ask if you are sure you'd like to set this image as your wallpaper. Select "Yes," and then press the "circle" button to exit the message once it tells you the wallpaper is set. Press the "circle" button again until you exit completely to your home screen, and the image will be set as the wallpaper for your PSP.
