Open the cover of the Memory Stick slot, which is located on the left side of the PSP. Insert the Memory Stick Duo into the slot.
Format the Memory Stick if you have not already done so. Press on the "Home" button at the bottom left corner of the PSP. Select the "Settings" icon from the "Main Menu". Select the "System Settings" option by pressing the "X" button on the PSP. Highlight and select the "Format Memory Stick" option. When asked if you wish to format the Memory Stick, highlight and select "Yes." Press the "X" button to exit the confirmation message that appears.
Check the available storage space on your Memory Stick Duo. As you browse the "Music," "Photo," "Video" and "Game" categories, highlight "Memory Stick." Doing so will display the amount of available space.
Use your PSP to connect to the Internet. Select the "Network" icon from the home menu. Select the "Internet Browser" icon and click on it by pressing the "X" button. Select the address bar by using the up and down buttons. Press the "X" button to bring up the on-screen keyboard.
Type in the address of a website containing PSP-supported audio files (see Resources for example.) Select "Enter" and press the "X" button.
Select a music file to download. Access the "PSP" folder on the Memory Stick. Save the file to the "Music" subfolder.
Confirm the download by selecting "Save" and pressing the "X" button. You should see the "Save Completed" screen once the download has completed.
