PSP Memory Stick Duo Troubleshooting

According to many gamers, the PSP is one of the greatest handheld devices ever created. A PSP Memory Stick is a small, thin cartridge used to save data. It works similarly to a USB flash drive in the sense that it can be removed and taken anywhere with you. When a PSP Memory Stick duo malfunctions, you can troubleshoot it in several ways.
  1. Reading Data

    • There are different reasons why your PSP won't recognize your Memory Stick data. First, there may be physical damage on your Memory Stick Duo. Check the device to ensure that it is free of damage. Second, your PSP system may not have the latest updates. If so, install the updates onto your PSP. If all else fails, you may need to reformat your Memory Stick Duo, which will result in loss of memory.

    Insert Issues

    • When your Memory Stick will not go into your PSP, you may be inserting the Memory Stick incorrectly. When you insert the Memory Stick, ensure that the writing on it is facing opposite from you. If you're attempting to insert it correctly and it still won't work, return the memory stick and request a refund.

    Loading/Saving Problems

    • Ensure that there is enough space on the Memory Stick Duo to save files. If the Memory Stick is full, delete any unnecessary data. Also, save certain files to their corresponding folders. For example: Picture files should be saved into the picture folder.
