PSP Game Download FAQ

The Sony PlayStation Portable is a handheld console with a built-in Wi-Fi and USB port that can be utilized to download games to a memory stick. You won't have to swap discs each time you want to play another game. Instead, head back to the home menu and choose your game.

What Do I Need to Download Games?
- You need a memory stick to save the game on your console. The larger the memory stick, the better--many full game downloads are several hundred megabytes. A larger memory stick will hold more games.
  
  You need wireless Internet access to download games directly to your PSP. If you don't have wireless access, you can download a game through your PC or PlayStation 3 console and then transfer it to your PSP.
  
  You need an active PlayStation Network account to purchase downloadable games. It's free to register. If you have an existing account, use that.
What Other Ways Can I Download PSP Games?
- If you own a PlayStation 3 system, connect it to the internet and visit the PlayStation Store. You can download games to your PS3, connect your PSP to the PS3 with a USB cable and transfer the game from the PS3 to the PSP.
  
  You also can use your PC. Sony offers a free program, Media Go, that allows you to shop on the PlayStation Store from your computer. Using Media Go, you can download games and send them to your PSP through a USB connection.
How Can I Find the Size of a Download?
- Check the size of a game download at the PlayStation store. If your memory stick doesn't have enough available space for the game, you will be unable able to store the game or play it on your console.
How Much Do Games Cost?
- Downloadable games for the PSP range from $5 to $30 or more. All prices are listed at the PlayStation Store.
Can I Play Downloaded Games on Multiple Consoles?
- You can register up to five PS3 and PSP consoles per PSN account. By registering a console, you give it access to all of your account information.
