Download video converter software. There are several freeware applications you can use. Download one that converts from the format of your video files. You want to convert them to the MP4 format. If you are using video podcast files, they may already be in MP4 format.
Run the video converter to convert the file. Open the file you want to convert in the video converter software. Select "Export" or "Convert" or "Save as." Look for the option to save it as an MP4 format, which might be labeled PSP 480 x 272 pixel. It's best to save the file to your hard drive first and remember where you saved it.
Connect your PSP to your computer. Make sure the memory card is in place in the PSP. Connect the PSP to your computer via a mini USB cable. Or, if you have a memory card reader, you can put the memory card in that. If you've never used video on your PSP before, you'll need to make a "Video" folder on the memory card.
Copy the video files to the PSP. Make sure you copy them to the Video folder. You can copy as many files as will fit on your memory card.
Play the video. Disconnect your PSP from your computer. Or, if you copied it using a memory card reader, take the card out of the reader and return it to the PSP. Turn the PSP on and navigate to the Video tab, where you will see the video you copied in the list there. Select it to play it.
