How to Put Game Saves on a PSP

The Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) is a handheld device that can play games, music and videos. Some games can be very challenging, whereas others can be boring if they're too easy. Using game saves allows you to improve your games and get an edge in playing, which can include starting with plenty of money or the best equipment. Here's how you can put game saves on a PSP.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect your PSP to your computer via a data cable. Insert the smaller peripheral into your PSP while connecting the USB portion to your computer's USB port.

    • 2

Open up the PSP through your computer and navigate to the "SAVEDATA" folder. Once connected, the PSP will appear as an external drive on your computer's directory. Right-click the PSP drive and select "Explore" to examine the contents of the PSP and find the "SAVEDATA" folder.

    • 3

Download and extract the the game save from the PSP-Saves website (see Resources). The game saves are listed as zip files. Unzip the package and ensure that its save folder is the same name as its zip file.

    • 4

Drag and drop the save game folder into the "SAVEDATA" folder within your PSP drive. Choose "Yes to all" when asked if you want to overwrite the data.

    • 5

Disconnect the PSP from your computer and verify your data transfer. Turn on your PSP and access the "Save Data Utility" on the PSP's menu screen. Choose "Game" to pull up a list of game saves.
