How to Clean PSP Games

The Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) uses the UMD CD format for its games. Exposure to dust particles often can ruin a game-playing experience. The UMD case is very delicate and should be handled by a professional at a game store if you don't have the proper tools to open and repair the case. There are third-party cleaning kits that can clean the CD and restore playability for the PSP.

  Open the cleaning device and apply the cleaning solution to the cloth that will be used to clean the CD. The proper of amount of solution to use should be in the product instructions.

  Insert the PSP UMD CD inside the device carefully as to not damage the disc during the cleaning process. Close the lid once the UMD CD is firmly in place.

  Hold the knob portion located on the case and begin to turn the knob in a circular motion. Then spin the UMD CD inside to clean out the dirt particles with the cloth and cleaning solution applied.

  After a few moments, stop turning the knob, open the device and remove the UMD CD and test the newly cleaned game in your PSP.
